2010 Play Soccer So They Can Weekend

To our valued Players, Volunteers and Members;

Congratulations—You Have Made A Difference!!!

It is with enormous pride and joy that we announce the total raised during the Play Soccer So They Can Weekend:   $5208.04 !!!

  • Top Peewee/Mini (U6-U10)  Team – U6 Badgers   $350.00
  • Top Divisional (U11-U18) Team - U13 Titans $130.00
  • (special mention to our men’s team that raised 130.00!)

We were overwhelmed with stories of how some of the teams/players raised funds; holding a bake sale, doing extra work around the house to raise money, going out and getting pledges from family and friends. We thank all of our hard working managers, coaches and volunteers that collected and dropped of their team’s donations; we thank all of those that stopped by the OA Projects table at photo day to express their support of the Play Soccer So They Can initiative.   We thank you each and every one of you that contributed……every donation makes a difference!

Please see note below from OA Projects:

On behalf of OA Projects and our partners in Uganda, we want to thank North Vancouver FC for this amazing event. In particular, we'd like to thank the NVFC Board and all the team managers, coaches, parents and players who made this event so successful!  We enjoyed meeting with many of you at picture day and getting to talk more about our work and the impact that your efforts will have in northern Uganda.   We'll be keeping NVFC updated as the soccer-based peacebuilding program progresses and you'll be able to see the results of your actions on the ground at www.oaprojects.org
Thanks so much and looking forward to seeing you next year!
